Quadruple amputee cornhole player accused of shooting, killing man during argument while driving

UNITED STATES, March 23 — LA PLATA, Md. — A well-known cornhole player is accused of shooting a passenger in a car he was driving during an argument in La Plata Sunday night. According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, Dayton James Webber is charged with killing 27-year-old Bradrick Michael Wells.

Police say Webber, a professional cornhole player and quadruple amputee , was driving near La Plata Road and Radio Station Road shortly before 10:30 p.m. when he allegedly shot and killed Wells during an argument.

After the shooting, Webber allegedly pulled over near Llano Drive and asked other passengers in the car to help pull Wells out of the vehicle. Investigators say the witnesses refused to help Webber and got out of the car. Afterward, Webber reportedly drove off with Wells still in the car.

Nearly two hours later, the sheriff's office says someone reported a body in a yard in the 10000 block of Newport church Road in Charlotte Hall. When officers arrived, they found Wells' body.

Webber was arrested a short time later after deputies found him at a nearby hospital seeking treatment for a medical issue.

Webber was arrested by the Albemarle County Police Department and was charged as a fugitive from justice. He will be extradited to Charles County, where he will be charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and other related charges.

Deputies have not said what Webber and Wells were arguing about when the shooting happened.
