Tourist sues New York taco joint over spicy salsa: Reports

UNITED STATES, March 14 — A man sued a popular New York taco joint because he claimed the salsa was too spicy, according to multiple reports.

Faycal Manz, a German tourist visiting the United States in 2024, filed a complaint against Los Tacos No. 1 after he ate their green salsa and found it to be too spicy,

according to People magazine.

Spicy salsa allegedly caused emotional distress Dig deeper: Manz sued the taco joint for $100,000 in damages after he allegedly experienced digestion problems, high blood pressure and emotional distress after eating the salsa,

USA Today reported. Manz also alleged the salsa gave him tongue blisters and even after he attempted to alleviate his discomfort by drinking fluids and eating ice cream, he continued to experience "nonstop pain,"

according to the New York Post.

Judge sides with Los Tacos No. 1 U.S. District Judge Dale Ho presided over the case and ended up siding with the taco joint, writing in an opinion that spiciness "is often the point" of salsa," The Post reported.
