Far Out Magazine — Though he usually shies away from making political statements, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl has conceded that America feels “deeply divided” right now. In a new interview with the Irish Times , the ‘Sky Is A Neighbourhood’ singer was asked to air his opinions on the current state of the USA, as the Trump administration continues to stir up greater sociopolitical unrest. “Yeah, we’re getting old,” Grohl began, adding, “ Fucking Neil Young is angrier than ever – jeez, Louise.
” Turning his attention to his own point of view, Grohl added, “But, yeah, of course. It’s hard not to feel political living in America, where we’re deeply divided. And there’s injustice, and there’s so much hate and fear, and it’s such a drag.
” The 57-year-old shared his way of operating in the world, with an ethos of openness and positivity: “I try to love everyone, because I think that’s what you’re supposed to do – and I do. ” However, Grohl has acknowledged that a fundamental change needs to be made to prevent the state of global conflict from worsening. He concluded, “But there needs to be a change in that direction, and it’s been hard to find in the States.
” As is suggested in the new comments, Foo Fighters are anti-Trump, having refused to let the President use their song ‘My Hero’ on his campaign trail for his 2024 presidency. Following this, the band donated royalties from its usage to Kamala Harris’ Democratic Party campaign. Grohl’s name landed in the headlines recently after Hole frontperson Courtney Love called for the ex-Nirvana musician to publicly end their feud.
Though their long feud, which began in 1997 when Love sued the members of Nirvana, has been resolved behind closed doors, Grohl has never said as much publicly. Love insisted, “Like, come out with it and just say we’re cool. Like, come out with it.
Right? Be man enough to man up”.
